Industry Live Project - Rouka

Project Brief -
This term project focused on gaining industry experience through live projects. As part of this, we collaborated with a designer to understand their brand and create a collection based on their briefing. Rouka is a homegrown slow fashion brand from India, deeply rooted in Indian culture, utilizing traditional techniques and indigenous fabrics. Designer Sreejith Jeevan provided a precise briefing, emphasizing relaxed silhouettes tailored for the brand’s clientele—working women in urban India. The project involved extensive market research, trend analysis, client study, and concept development. The final outcome was a collection of six garments, thoughtfully designed.

Concept -
Inspired by wabi-sabi and kintsugi, this collection celebrates beauty in imperfection, simplicity, and transformation. Embracing asymmetry, garments feature subtle irregularities that add depth and character. Kintsugi-inspired golden accents symbolize renewal, while minimalistic silhouettes highlight texture and balance. Rooted in serenity, the collection invites wearers to embrace life's imperfections and find harmony in a fast-paced world.
