Project Brief -
For this project, we were tasked to research on future predictions around the planet and create hypothetical scenarios and habitats. The habitats had to be either sustainable or technologically advanced. With this, we were to design avatars that would inhabit in our hypothetical worlds, and finally, design clothing for them. This project looked at the use of AI as well.
Concept -
The concept for Utopia revolved around parallel universes. Utopia is a fantasy world in a parallel universe in the 2500s. This world cannot be accessed by humans as space travel is not an option. Therefore, humans create avatars in the labs in Earth to experience Utopia as Earth has become a disastrous place to live in due to the environmental impacts. These avatars are fully controlled by humans, , like in a VR game, except there is no game but an actual parallel universe. This universe, Utopia, is a sustainable world made of sustainable materials. The transportation is the avatars of animals and birds, designed using AI.
The final outcome for this project was to create garments for these avatars. The garments are made using sustainable textiles.
